Abstract
With the easy, widespread access to large-language models/generative AI programs, the humanities classroom and its assignments have been turned upside down since students no longer have to struggle with what they individually and uniquely think with a prompt and a click of a button. What is authentic learning with LLM/gen-AI programs instantly creating prose essays--the traditional proof of one's individual thinking and humanistic inquiry? These LLM/gen-AI programs appear to thwart this liberal arts concern of developing innovative thinkers. Given the socioeconomic importance of a 4-year college degree to create the next generation of managers and white collar workers (leaders), how does and how will LLM/gen-AI impact concepts of "authentic leadership"? My larger project wrestles with the questions of authenticity and what can be considered authentically and distinctively human in this technological moment.
